Like a fairytale
from starter to dessert
Unexpected and surprising – each course in our gourmet restaurant in Vorarlberg leads you into a world of bold flavours. Each dish tells a story that complements the next one. And yet, at the same time, they all have their own character. Our current menu takes you on a culinary journey through the fabulous world of the Brothers Grimm. We pay homage to our favourite folktales from the Reinhardswald – some well-known, some lesser-known – and reinterpret them on your plate.
Our kitchen team surrounding Peter Reithmayr knows how to create harmony, contrast, accents. How to merge flavours and textures to create something new. Fluffy espuma meets melt-in-the-mouth sorbet, spheres and crumbs, creams and jus, ragouts and purees, mousse and crunchy brittle are perfectly in tune. Pay close attention. Because the different textures will make the flavours stand out.
This little taster makes you hungry for more? We can reveal the menu in advance on request.
Visually, the dishes can certainly keep up with the creations of world-class restaurants.

The subtext
in the gourmet restaurant Textur
Reading feeds the heart and the mind. Because of this deep conviction the Sonnenburg has been one of the few literature hotels in Austria since 2016. But books have had a special place in our hearts for much longer, guiding our decisions in everything we do. We share our passion for great stories with our guests in many ways: in our libraries, at readings and through the book boxes in all our rooms.
With Textur, we are taking it one step further: In our gourmet restaurant in Vorarlberg, we listen to the basic human needs for physical and mental nourishment. By making texts tangible, tastable and perceptible. We use a wide variety of textures to create tension and complexity – both on the plate and between the pages.
The various courses in our Vorarlberg gourmet restaurant are currently inspired by the fabulous fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
