Morning
Even before the sun touches the mountain peaks, the freshly groomed slopes lie right outside the hotel door ready for all early birds. Strap on your skis, glide out and make your first turns in the untouched snow. Children set off for ski school right nearby with their helmets and gear, while adults enjoy the clear air and the vastness of the slopes. The mountains are close, the paths are short. This is how a winter day begins at the Sonnenburg in Oberlech.
Lunchtime
After the first few intense hours on the slopes, a pleasant tiredness sets in. Time for a short break on our sun terrace: warm hands around a cup, local delicacies on your plate, mountain panorama in sight and a moment to take a deep breath. For a while, movement gives way to a panoramic view, your pulse slows down and your thoughts have room. Then it’s up to you: back on the slopes or straight into the warmth, depending on how today feels.
Evening
Back at the hotel the panoramic pool is calling your name: behind the large glass front the Austrian Alps peak in, while warm water soothes strained muscles. Whoever is in the mood can pay our Finnish sauna and steam bath a visit or relax on one of the loungers to unwind – maybe with a book or poetry collection from the swimming pool library. Here, in our spa in Lech am Arlberg, wellness becomes tangible and the day can come to a peaceful end.

The answer is a resounding yes! And oftentimes it is those moments that you haven’t planned. When children dive into the water laughing, while their parents take a deep breath at the edge of the pool and let their gaze and mind wander. That’s what makes our family spa in Austria so special. After an eventful day in and around our family ski hotel, there’s no need for more to-dos. What you need is a place where everyone can relax in their own way.
Time together in the family sauna
The family sauna opens in the afternoon as an oasis for everyone: parents and children sit next to each other in the textile sauna, talking about their runs and favourite snowy adventures. But it’s not just the big experiences on the mountain that count. It’s precisely these little moments that you share as a family.
Time-out for adults only
Later, the family sauna becomes a ladies’ sauna and is a protected area for women only. Men and anyone who wants to relax without children can find their retreat in the quiet zones of the regular wellness area. As a hotel with childcare, the Sonnenburg makes moments like these possible: the youngest guests are well looked after in the kids club Kinderwelt, while the grown-ups can switch off and recharge their batteries for a while in our spa.
