The Sonnenburg – as we call ourselves – is a family hotel situated in the Austrian village Lech am Arlberg. Our hotel has grown and evolved from a modest ski lodge to a 5-star holiday destination over the past 80 years. Cherishing our roots along the way and keeping our heart at the right place. Skiing in winter or hiking in summer? Active families have plenty of action and activities to look forward to when spending a holiday at our 5-star family hotel in Lech am Arlberg. But not only that. We also offer family wellness all year round. Thanks to our loving childcare, even our older guests have enough time to themselves. Because “family friendly” is more to us than just a word.

Good to Know Before Your Stay at the Sonnenburg
Until what time can I stay in my room on departure day?
On your departure day, your room is available until 11:00 am. A later check-out is possible on request, subject to availability.
How does the arrival in Oberlech work – especially with luggage?
In winter, you drive to Lech and park your vehicle in the underground car park Anger. As Oberlech is car-free during this time, you then travel up to Oberlech by gondola. Your luggage is collected at the arrival point and brought directly to Sonnenburg, where it will already be waiting in your room – for a relaxed arrival and a comfortable start to your holiday. In summer, you can drive directly to Hotel Sonnenburg with parking available on site.
What meals are included in a stay at Hotel Sonnenburg?
Half board with breakfast and dinner is included in your stay at Hotel Sonnenburg. In the morning, a generous breakfast buffet is waiting for you; in the evening, a multi-course dinner with several options, including vegetarian and vegan choices. We are also happy to accommodate individual dietary requirements and intolerances with prior notice. Children are offered their own menus, or, after registration, an early children’s dinner in the Kinderwelt kid’s club. You may also explore the culinary treasures of this region further in our other restaurants: special experiences await in our à la carte restaurants, the sun terrace for lunch with a view, the traditional Schüna and the literary dining experience Textur.

In summer, parking is available directly at Hotel Sonnenburg, free of charge. In winter, Oberlech is car-free. Park your car in the underground car park Anger in Lech, where your vehicle will be registered, allowing you to enter and exit without a ticket. From there, you can travel comfortably to Oberlech and Sonnenburg by gondola. Tickets for your arrival and departure are included in your stay. Your luggage will be transported for you.

Sonnenburg is open almost all year round and welcomes guests in both summer and winter.

Hotel Sonnenburg is located in Oberlech am Arlberg in Vorarlberg, Austria, at an altitude of approximately 1,650 metres above sea level and right above the village of Lech. The area is part of the Arlberg ski resort and is particularly peaceful and scenic.
