At some places, venturing out from our family hotel and exploring the slopes of the ski resort Lech Zürs at the Arlberg may take your breath away – not because of the cold, but simply because of nature’s beauty.
We asked two locals about their favourite overlooks for marvelling at the mountain panorama while skiing at the Arlberg: Sonnenburg host Waltraud Hoch tells us which ski lodge is a must for great views. Ski instructor Caroline knows which slopes offer the best scenic backdrop for your next ski run.

lets us in on her secret favourites:
“If you ask me, you get the best view when skiing down the Rüfikopf mountain to the Schüttboden ski lift after about 400 metres”, answers ski instructor and hiking guide Caroline to our question about the most beautiful views at the Arlberg. She is not alone in this opinion: The slope is part of the so called “White Ring”, a popular ski circuit which connects Lech, Zürs, Zug, and Oberlech. The White Ring includes 22 kilometres of easy and intermediate slopes, perfect for skiing with your family in Austria. If you choose to explore the White Ring, you will be rewarded with two stunning overlooks: a 360-degree panoramic view at the top station Rüfikopf and the natural platform at the Madloch ski run.
“At the top of the Steinmähder mountain you can see as far as Switzerland in one direction and Germany in the other”, explains Caroline. The Steinmähder chair lift comfortably takes you there.
“And – at the top of the Trittkopf and skiing down to Klostertal the views are remarkable as well”, adds Caroline.

What does host Waltraud Hoch mean by that? It’s quite simple: In front of the ski lodge “The WOLF” you enjoy delicious meals and an incomparable view! You reach the lodge via the chair lifts Petersboden and Weibermahd and via the ski runs from Kriegerhorn or Hasensprung leading to Lech.
